Please excuse the really terrible title, I just had to do it. Hehe. This is my new buddy, a 1937 Singer Featherlite sewing machine. She once belonged to my great aunt, and has been sitting in storage for quite a few years now. When I had trouble with my horrible cheap sewing machine ($15 on ebay, and even that was too much, as it worked ONCE), my Mom suggested that this machine might do the trick. My Dad cleaned and oiled it, and they presented it to me in its original storage box, with the original manual, bobbins, EVERYTHING. I can’t tell you how excited Heather the Feather makes me.
I can’t wait to delve into some projects (including sewing some album covers and such for my scrapbook projects). I really haven’t sewn anything since college, but it is fun to think that I now have this lovely little jewel of a machine to work with. I believe that my first big project will be this rag quilt that I found on kevinandamanda.com: http://www.kevinandamanda.com/photos/rag-quilts/
Thank you for indulging me in my psudo understanding of sewing, and let me know if you have any advice for this new seamstress? Merry Christmas Eve Eve friends!
